Synead Toomey Featured as IMRO’s 14,000th Member

On 23th June 2020 it was announced that Synead was the 14,000th IMRO member. The Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) is an organisation which aims to protect, promote and develop the collection and distribution of music royalties, foster music creation and promote the value of music to the creative, cultural and business communities in Ireland. This is the first of many huge achievements that is coming Synead’s way. Synead also works with Music Generation in Limerick, an organisation which was founded by the band U2. The goal of Music Generation is to learn, enjoy and share their music with the world.

Synead Toomey is a singer/songwriter from Limerick, Ireland. Despite Synead being the latest musician to join Rootsrings Management, she is far from new in her music career. Synead began busking in 2012 and continues to do so to this day, alongside playing many other gigs locally and nationwide. She has just completed a degree in Voice and Dance in University of Limerick.

In 2016, Synead performed in one of Ireland’s largest music festival Electric Picnic, alongside many other successful musicians from Limerick such as Hermitage Green, Rusangano Family and many other artists.

Synead describes her genre of music to be Indie-folk, with original songs that are acoustically beautiful.  Synead Toomey has extensive experience with performing, as she has performed, collaborated with  and supported artists such as Gavin James, Ryan Sheridan, Emma Langford, Dave Keenan, Wyvern Lingo and many more.

Synead is no stranger to original songs, and her much anticipated EP ‘Falling’ is a meaningful, genuine and emotional reflection of everyday life experiences. The title track ‘Falling’ describes the painful feeling of falling in love with the right person at the wrong time. This EP will be released and available to listen to on August 14th 2020.

RootStrings is thrilled to welcome Synead to its catalog, and delighted to see IMRO once again supporting the immense talent of Ireland. Check out the original IMRO post here, and follow Synead on Facebook.

“Experiment” a new single from Abby Butler

RootStrings co-op member extraordinaire and rising Limerick star, Abby Butler, has released her first single, and we think it’s pretty awesome.

“Experiment” is an original song exploring the pain of lost love. “This song is not aimed at anyone specifically,” says Abby, “But it definitely came from a place that most people probably have been in at some stage, that they feel they might have been lead on by a love interest and then dropped like a hot potato.”

Recorded at Open Door Studios in Limerick, Ireland with the expert assistance of Joe Mulcahy, “Experiment” is a catchy, heart-break song with elements of pop, jazz, and a particular snarky sadness that is all Abby’s own.

Listen to “Experiment” on YouTube or Spotify, and follow Abby on Facebook.
