Honoured by Colorado Governors, the Colorado State Legislature and the Denver City Council, the Queen City Jazz Band is currently celebrating its 60th anniversary. Featuring a lineup of unmatched musicians and the vocals of the great Wende Harston, the Queen City Jazz Band has inspired audiences around the country with the magnificent music of the early masters of blues and jazz and the powerful sounds of the Bourbon Street Second Line.
From swing dancing to gospel, early blues to Ella Fitzgerald, the QCJB enchants with music from the 1920s to 40s, keeping toes tapping and hands clapping wherever they go. In addition, The Queen City Jazz Foundation has sponsored almost 100 clinics and visitations for school children whose young ears are often treated for the first time to America’s own musical treasure—jazz.
